ELECTRIC BELL

ELECTRIC BELL

  • When the iron strip is in contact with screw, the current flows through the coil which becomes an electromagnet
  • It the pulls the iron strip. In the process, the hammer strikes the gong of the bell to produce a sound when the electromagnet pulls the iron strip. The circuit breaks. the coil is no longer electromagnet it no longer attracts the iron strip the iron strip comes backs to its orignal position and touches the contact screw again this again complete the circuit and the coil again again attracts the iron strip and strikes the gong this process is repeated in quick session the hammer strikes the gong everytime the circuit is complete this is how the bell rings.

WOOD

USES OF WOOD

Here are only a few of many uses of wood:
  • FURNITURE AND FLOORING
  • CONSTRUCTION AND SHIPBUILDING
  • ART
  • MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
  • UTENSILS

SOIL

USES OF SOIL

Soil is a medium in which plants grow and a habitat for animals and other micro-organisms. Fertile soil is vital for the production of food, timber and fiber, which are all essential for human existence and providing economic prosperity.
Soil also influences the character of our local landscapes and preserves archaeological remains.
It plays a key role in environmental regulation such as pollution prevention, by breaking down or reducing the impact of chemical contaminants, and for carbon storage and release that can influence climate change through modifying the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.Soils are important in nutrient cycling and regulating water flow and flood risk reduction.
WHERE IS SOIL FOUND?
Soil is found on the uppermost layer of earth. It is found on the lithosphere.

WATER

IMPORTANCE OF WATER
"Water can live very well without people, but we people can only live for 3 days without water." This quotation already contains the whole truth about the importance of water as the most essential form of nourishment for all forms of life.
Apart from drinking it to survive, people have many other uses for water.
       These include:
·                cooking
·                washing their bodies
·                washing clothes
·                washing cooking and eating utensils; such as billies, saucepans, crockery and cutlery
·                keeping houses and communities clean
·                recreation; such as swimming pools
·                keeping plants alive in gardens and parks
Water is also essential for the healthy growth of farm crops and farm stock and is used in the manufacture of many products.

It is most important that the water which people drink and use for other purposes is clean water. This means that the water must be free of germs and chemicals and be clear (not cloudy).

Water that is safe for drinking is called potable water.

ORIGIN OF WATER

The natural source of water are rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, hot springs. Also things like icepack are natural sources. The ground water precipitation and the ocean is to.

COAL

USES OF COAL

Coal has many important uses worldwide. The most significant uses of coal are in electricity generation, steel production, cement manufacturing and as a liquid fuel. Around 6.6 billion tons of hard coal were used worldwide last year and 1 billion tons of brown coal. Different types of coal have different uses. Steam coal - also known as thermal coal - is mainly used in power generation. Coking coal - also known as metallurgical coal - is mainly used in steel production.
WHERE IS COAL FOUND?
Coal is usually found within the surface of the earth on the coal beds where the top soil is stripped off the coal. Hence, the coal is dug out in a process called surface mining. The countries where coal is found include North America, Russia, China, India, Africa and South America.
